I created the first version of this website when my wife had
emergency brain surgery. Very quickly, we were whisked off to
another city, and on top of all of the stress of the situation, found
that I was overwhelmed with people that wanted to know what happened,
how they could help, how Roberta was doing, etc. Since there was
no way to stay focused on Roberta and keep in touch with everyone, I
created this website.

I found that it provided some amazing results. Among them:
- It gave me a way to let people know "what happened", without
having to explain it to each new person as they found out.
- It made it easier for me to break the news to people. All I had to
say was that Roberta was in the hospital for brain surgery, that it was
serious, and that they could get details on the website. People knew
that I didn't have the energy to talk, and would communicate through the
website.
- It gave me an easy way to let everyone know how Roberta was doing, without
having to make a lot of phone calls
- It gave all of our family and friends a way to send messages to Roberta,
which I would print and read to her everyday.
- It gave our family and friends a way to support each other. Each day
they could read each other's messages and find strength and courage from
each other.
- It took the load off of the hospital nursing staff, who were fielding LOTS
of phone calls.
I really can't describe how much the site has meant to our family and
friends. We are very blessed that Roberta survived the operation, and will
completely recover. If you are in a similar situation, our prayers
are with you and we would like to help you in any way that we can.
